WOODBURY -- Authorities have charged a youth ice hockey coach they say had sexual contact with a boy 23 years ago in Deptford Township.
Walter Ferinden, 55, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, is charged with two second-degree counts of sexual contact involving a 12-year-old boy on various dates during the summer of 1994.
He is also charged with nine counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact with minors in Newark, Delaware. He posted bail in Delaware and was expected to report to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Offoce Friday for processing.
During the 1990s and up until 2010, Ferinden coached youth hockey and held skating clinics in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and Vermont, authorities said.
He held clinics at Holly Dell Ice Arena in Washington Township. The child in the Gloucester County case played in a junior hockey league.
