TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An investigator with the Taylor County Sheriff's Office has joined the hunt for a technology-savvy sex offender suspect accused of sexually assaulting multiple child victims while he interned and worked at Abilene churches in the 1990s.
This investigator obtained a search warrant to get account, purchase, wish list, and user information from Amazon.com associated with Jeffrey Winston Forrest because the investigator believes Forrest has been making purchases online to help him remain a Fugitive from Justice.
Court documents say there has been no contact or communication from Forrest since he missed his trial date for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in Taylor County one year ago.
In the documents, the Taylor County Sheriff's investigator who obtained the search warrant says Forrest is "known to be extremely computer literate and a frequent consumer of the latest and most current computer technology," and has "made a living by using computers and internet technology".
However, a source close to Forrest told the investigator Forrest frequently made purchases from Amazon.com and the investigator believes it highly likely he's still making purchases due to his "reliance on electronic technology for life sustenance and a matter of convenience"
The search warrant for Forrest's Amazon.com information was granted on March 23, 2017. The returns from that search warrant have not been made public.
This search warrant was filed after the investigator learned Forrest may have sexually assaulted other victims that live or lived in rural Taylor County.
Right now, Forrest is only facing the two Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child charges he was set to stand trial for last April.
Forrest was originally arrested on these charges in Denton County, Texas, in April of 2015.
Court documents reveal at least one victim told detectives that Forrest was sexually abusive in September of 1993.
Forrest was this victim's after-school daycare teacher and the victim claims the sexual abuse continued until the child was in 8th grade, according to the documents.
The Abilene Police Department says at least three victims have come forward with similar allegations.
Anyone who knows where Jeff Forrest may be hiding is asked to call Abilene Crimestoppers at (325)676-8477.
