MT. CLEMENS, MI - A 31-year-old Chesterfield Township man charged earlier this month with child pornography possession has now been arraigned on a handful of additional felony charges.
Nicholas Scott Reynolds was charged Friday, March 31 with two counts of child sexually abusive activity, one count of assault by strangulation and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
The new charges come on top of four previous charges -- one count of child sexually abusive activity related to distribution/promotion, one count of possession of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
Reynolds was originally arrested March 15 by detectives with the sheriff's office after a search warrant of his Chesterfield Township home turned up numerous images of child pornography on a computer in his possession.
The charges issued Friday stem from the original criminal complaint filed by the family of a 15-year-old Macomb Township girl that initially led detectives to search Reynolds' home.
The Macomb Township girl told police she had chatted with Reynolds through an online chat program and had agreed to meet him on March 10 in a residential neighborhood in the township.
When Reynolds and the girl met, the sheriff's office says he forced her into his car and sexually assaulted her.
Reynolds' bond was posted at $300,000 cash. He is due back in court on Thursday, April 6.
