A Gladewater man already sentenced on a child sexual assault charge in Gregg County has received yet another stint in prison, this time from a Smith County court.
Chesley Dean Hayes, 43, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty in a Tyler courtroom to a charge of sexual assault of a child.
Hayes had three other charges, including indecency with a child, which were dropped under a plea agreement.
Hayes was sentenced this past October to 25 years in prison on a separate charge out of Gregg County. In that case, he pleaded guilty to a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old, also under a plea agreement.

A 24-year-old Hermiston man is accused of raping and sodomizing a child under 12 years old.

Umatilla County Sheriff's deputies say Elias Nava Flores was arrested for rape, sodomy and meth possession after he had sex with a child in April.
Additional charges may be pending.

A city man sought by police on child rape charges and captured in New York last week has been brought back to Lackawanna County.
City police brought Eric Horowitz, 54, 932 Robinson St., Apt. 1, to Scranton from Broome County, New York, on Wednesday for arraignment on rape, rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old and corruption of minors charges. He was sent to Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Investigation into Horowitz began April 26, when the boy told his mother that Horowitz had sexual contact with him earlier that day, according to court documents. The boy’s mother first called Horowitz, who denied the allegation, and then called police.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.
Investigators interviewed the child later that day at the Northeastern Pennsylvania Child Advocacy Center, where he again said that Horowitz had sexual contact with him, according to court papers. A doctor examined the child and found injuries consistent with sexual assault.

A 62-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after his conviction Wednesday for sexually abusing a young girl.
Jurors in Waco’s 54th State District Court deliberated just 15 minutes before returning maximum sentences for Juan Rodriguez Guajardo, a diabetic who has lost sight in his right eye and who requires four-hour dialysis treatments three times a week.
The jury deliberated 35 minutes before convicting Guajardo of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and indecency with a child by contact. He has two prior DWI convictions.
In punishment testimony, Guajardo’s son testified that any prison term, including the minimum of 25 years on the first count, amounts to a death sentence for his father, who also suffers from a heart ailment and high blood pressure.
But prosecutors Gabrielle Massey and Christi Hunting Horse told jurors Guajardo deserves a stiff penalty because he abused the trust of the young girl, who he knew had been sexually abused previously by another family member when she was 8.
“This defendant knew she was vulnerable,” Massey said in jury summations. “He knew she had been through something like this before and he took advantage of that, and that makes this all so much worse.”
The jury convicted Guajardo of sexually abusing the 9-year-old girl from January 2013 to June 2013. The girl is a family member of the woman Guajardo was dating.
The girl testified that Guajardo touched her inappropriately on numerous occasions while she slept in the same bed with him, her grandmother and 5-year-old brother.
The girl’s brother told the jury that he was playing with Legos and looked up and saw Guajardo touching the girl on her outer thigh and hip. He said that although he was 5, he sensed something was amiss, adding that the incident made him mad and sad.
Defense attorney Phil Martinez suggested during jury summations Wednesday that the girl might have mixed up the previous abuse she suffered at the hands of her uncle with realistic dreams that Guajardo also abused her.
“We are disappointed in the outcome and the verdict,” Martinez said after the trial. “It really is a death sentence because I don’t see him living in prison much more than a few years.”
A Waco police detective testified that the girl’s uncle fled to Mexico before she could execute an arrest warrant on him.

A Victorville man has been arrested for the continuous abuse of a child under 14.
Nicholas Giles, 32, was taken into custody Tuesday after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle burglary at a Kaiser Permanente parking lot in the 14000 block of Park Avenue and instead found two men in a verbal argument, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a released statement.
Deputies discovered Giles, who is also known as Nicholas Gary Burstein, had an outstanding arrest warrant related to continuous sexual abuse of a child between 2012 and 2013, sheriff’s officials reported.
Detectives believe Giles may have more victims who have not yet contacted authorities.
Giles was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call Detective Dana Weinberg at the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911.

A Calgary man is facing several charges in connection to a child sexual abuse investigation that was launched by police late last year.
The family of a 14-year-old girl called Calgary police last December and said that she was meeting with a man in his late 20s and driving around with him.
Police talked to the girl at the time but she did not indicate that there was any wrongdoing.
Investigators looked into the man that the girl was meeting with and learned that he had been in contact with other girls of a similar age.
Police say he is believed to have used the names ‘Josh’ and ‘Brandon’ to meet the girls online.
There was several different social media apps that he was using to engage these girls in conversation,” said Staff Sergeant Melanie Oncescu from the Child Abuse Unit.
In April, a 13-year-old girl came forward and told police that the man had asked her for sexual favours, which led police to two additional victims.
Christian Allen Sarile, 27, of Calgary, is charged with three counts each of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault and obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years of age.
Police say technology is making it easier for predators and that parents need to be aware of what their children are accessing online.
“I think any parent needs to be mindful of what social media sites their children are accessing. They should know their passwords to their devices so they can check on them and have really good conversations about Internet safety with their kids,” said Oncescu.
According to court documents, Sarile is out on bail with the condition that he doesn't come into contact with minors.
Sarile is scheduled to appear in court on the charges on June 6, 2017.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234, or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods

Man charged in three cases of sexual abuse involving underage girls Colleen Schmidt May 3, 2017

A former Tulsa County sheriff’s deputy was charged Wednesday with five additional counts of sexual abuse with a child under 12.
Josh Randall Wood, 34, is accused of raping a relative, who was 4 or 5 years old at the time.
Two sets of child sexual abuse charges are now levied against Wood.
A Wagoner County judge in March ordered that he stand trial on charges he abused an 11 year-old girl in Broken Arrow.
That incident occurred when he was taking her home from his residence, where she had been playing with other children, authorities say.
The girl told authorities she was going home to pick up clothes to take to Wood’s house for the night. Wood asked her if she knew about sex, and that after she said “No” he sexually assaulted her to “teach her” despite her telling him multiple times to stop, investigators say.
Wood was also charged with two counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.
Wood resigned from the Sheriff’s Office about six months before his arrest.
A State College man is facing 737 felony and misdemeanor charges related to the sexual abuse of two girls between 2009 and 2016.
Joseph J. Neff, 36, was charged on Wednesday and arraigned before District Judge Thomas Jordan. Straight bail was set at $300,000.
Felony charges against him include one count of rape of a child, one count of statutory sexual assault, 100 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 125 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 125 counts of indecent assault, 27 counts of corruption of minors and 355 counts of unlawful contact with a minor. He also faces 25 misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and three misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.
According to the criminal complaint filed Wednesday, on April 19 State College Police received a report from the Centre County Children and Youth office that the victim indicated Neff had sexually abused her between 2009 and 2016 at residences in Boalsburg and State College. She reportedly said in an interview at the Centre County Child Advocacy Center that Neff touched her sexually, exposed himself to her and masturbated in front of her on numerous occasions and that on one occasion in 2009 had sexual intercourse with her. She also said that Neff would attempt to spy on her while she was changing clothes or in the bathroom.
Police said Neff also had regular contact with her minor sister, who also was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center. She reportedly told police that Neff had exposed himself to her and inappropriately touched her. The ages of both sisters were redacted in the criminal complaint.
A number of the charges against Neff, including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 100 aggravated indecent assault counts and 100 indecent assault counts, are for offenses where the complainant was younger than 13 years old at the time.
Neff was interviewed by State College Police on Tuesday and initially denied any sexual contact with either of the victims. After police informed him what they had said in their interviews at the Child Advocacy Center, Neff admitted to having sexual contact with the first girl from 2009 to 2014. He told police that he was having problems with his marriage and had fallen in love with the victim, according to the complaint.
He said that she never touched him sexually and that she seemed confused when he had sexual contact with her. He said he stopped when she told him she no longer wanted him touching her, according to the complaint. Police said he also admitted that he attempted to spy on her when she was changing or in the bathroom on several occasions.
